“There is a voice that
doesn’t use words. Listen!”
-Rumi
What has your body been whispering?
What is it that your body has been trying to communicate with you?
At Tulip Integrative Medicine, you are invited to be an active participant in your healing process.
During the 90-minute initial intake and exam, your in-depth medical history, including the progression of your conditions, how you have responded to the past treatments and interventions, and the current state of your body will be reviewed. If necessary, we will follow up with a second 90-minute session to delve into your conscious and subconscious mind, body, and psyche to identify the root cause of the conditions.
Following these sessions, you will be presented with a plan for a course of treatments and the modalities that would address the root cause and provide optimal healing.

Women's Health
“To be ourselves causes us to be exiled by many others, and yet to comply with what others want causes us to be exiled from ourselves.”
-Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Women who run with wolves
Some of the conditions that Acupuncture, and Herbal Medicine can treat or support regarding the Reproductive and Endocrine Systems, include:

How boundaries have been honored in an individual’s life, how their menarche was treated, how an individual feels about their body, the connection between the uterus and the heart, and their definition of uterus and fertility play significant roles in the health and wellbeing of their reproductive system and the quality of the seasons of their life from menarche to menopause and beyond.
In designing a treatment plan to address the concerns, the history of the patterns of menstrual cycles, all the above and more will be looked into, if necessary.
Internal Medicine
Our bodies are complex systems that stay intact through the intelligent network of pathways that connect the organs and their energetics. Once the integrity of this brilliant web is challenged, to maintain homeostasis, some compromises may take place which manifest in disharmony between the targeted organs or the energies along their associated pathways.
The goal of the treatments is to invite harmony to the system. Once the root cause of the pathology is addressed, the manifestations regardless of the form they present themselves with soften, the body, mind, and spirit re-integrate, and a more profound sense of wellbeing flourishes.
Some of the conditions treated or supported at Tulip Integrative Medicine include:
- metabolic syndrome
- gastrointestinal disorders
- insomnia
- fatigue
- migraines
- eczema

The Guest House
This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
Still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.
– Rumi
From Rumi: Selected Poems, translated by Coleman Barks with John Moyne, A. J. Arberry, Reynold Nicholson (Penguin Books, 2004)
We may be interacting with ourselves and the world from a state of stress, anxiety, restlessness, apprehension, irritability, chronic fatigue, and depression while experiencing insomnia and headaches. Many of the emotions and the states we experience are natural responds to the reality of the world around us and how it has systematically been designed.
Although our true essence is always intact, how we perceive, interpret, and respond to the narratives may limit our access to our full potential and resources.
Acupuncture through release of certain neurotransmitters (Serotonin, Dopamine, Gaba), and herbal medicine through regulating the biochemistry of the cells support access to more of our potential, so that we are empowered to communicate more effectively with ourselves and the world.
Pain Management
Chronic pain can greatly affect the quality of life and can even be debilitating.
Acupuncture as one of the most thriving modalities in treating or managing pain, induces analgesic effect and encourages healing process through release of endogenous opioids such as endorphins, dynorphins and encephalin, and enhancing serotonin levels.
Pain may be a messenger through which the universe communicates with human intelligence.
Looking into the message is an act of courage.
