Tulip Integrative Medicine is an
interdisciplinary practice rooted in the classics.
Depending on the patterns an individual identifies with, a set of modalities will be put together as a treatment plan to invite wholeness.
Each modality has the potential for a shift in the condition.
The treatment plans offer transformation, renewal and integrative healing. They promote rebirth, regeneration, and unstuck the flow of all that may be stagnant.
When ready, we always start by taking a deep breath to come back to the body.
The body is intelligent.
It reads the code and embarks on the adventure to explore new possibilities.

ACUPUNCTURE
Acupuncture facilitates the flow of Life Force. It is gentle insertion of filiform needles (flexible and thin like kitten whiskers) into specific Acupoints that are located on certain pathways on the body through which Life Force flows.
These points have special composition of blood vessels and nerve fibers, and once stimulated, can generate, and transmit biochemical and physiological signals which respectively impact the pathophysiology. Results may be immediate or delayed depending on the duration of the condition and how your body decides to communicate.
When there is resistance on a pathway, the energy gets stuck and heavy.
With the effortless flow that acupuncture offers, there is ease, comfort, and lightness.
You may feel slight heaviness, get a small bruise on the site, feel lightheaded or sleepy after the treatments. These are considered normal, and your body will adjust shortly after.
Acupuncture is a safe modality, effective in:
- re-adjusting immune system
- neuromodulation: inhibition of inflammation, oxidation, and apoptosis.
- regulating inflammatory responses
- analgesic effects
- improving vascular structure and function
- regulating hormones
- reducing body weight
- raising insulin sensitivity to improve insulin resistance
- lowering blood glucose
- regulation of sympathetic nerve and the activation of bioactive chemicals
At Tulip Integrative Medicine clinic acupuncture sessions last between 60 to 90 minutes.
The duration and the course of treatments vary depending on the diagnosis and the treatment plan.

Classical Chinese Herbal Medicine
In an herbal formula, each herb addresses one or more of the symptoms or brings harmony to the rest of the ingredients. The synergistic effects of herbs enhance their bioavailability, and therapeutic outcome.
Remote or in-person herbal consultations are available.
Formulas are made in the form of capsules, powder, decoction, or loose herbs depending on the availability and the individual’s preference.

Color Therapy
Japanese color therapy is based on the neuroscience principle of Optogenetics; using light signals on light sensitive proteins to monitor and control biochemical signaling and the activity of neurons. There are proteins in the skin that upon receiving light of certain wavelengths, regulate hormones and neurotransmitters and balance the autonomic nervous system.
In color therapy the energetic frequency of abnormal cells is canceled with the frequency of the color with the same wavelength to bring healing.
Color therapy is applied for:
- musculoskeletal pain
- neurological disorders
- gynecological conditions
- gastro intestinal irregularities
- mental-emotional concerns
- headaches
At Tulip Integrative Medicine clinic, you can receive color therapy, during the 90-minute acupuncture sessions.

Functional Medicine
Functional medicine as an evidence-based approach can be effective in prevention of disease and restoring health through lifestyle modifications, integrative nutrition, and proper dosages of nutritional supplements compatible with the laboratory test results.
At Tulip Integrative Medicine clinic, if necessary, blood tests will be ordered.
Immune Neutral Formulas are offered for autoimmune conditions.
